Odyssey

Odyssey was selected as the winning composition and audience choice of the 2014 Dorothy Ellen Ransom Prize. The work was performed by the UWA Symphony Orchestra for the Innovation concert as part of the annual Artistry! concert series. Odyssey has since been performed by the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra as part of a public outreach concert for the 2015 'Composer's School' program.

Odyssey is a concert overture based on Homer’s epic of the same name.  The episodic nature of the music is attributable to the idea of a circumlocutory journey, such as that which Odysseus took.
