As part of the University of Western Australia's School of Music annual Artistry Concert Series, the UWA Symphony Orchestra is showcasing a selection of new works for orchestra. Iconic Australian composer Peter Sculthorpe has been commissioned to write a new work specifically for this occasion. Alongside this premiere will be a performance of his monumental work, Memento Mori, as well as premieres of new works by the 2014 Ransom Prize finalists, including Mark Holdsworth's Odyssey. The winner of the 2014 Ransom Prize will be judged and announced live.
